1. Platform Role (VERY IMPORTANT)

SecurityCareers.ie (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”) operates solely as an online careers platform and job marketplace connecting Employers and Candidates within the security industry.

We do not:

  • act as an employer, recruiter, agency, or hiring authority
  • participate in interviews, vetting, background checks, or hiring decisions
  • guarantee employment, candidate suitability, or employer legitimacy

All employment relationships are formed directly between Employers and Candidates.

2. User Accounts

2.1 Account Types

The Platform provides two primary account types:

  • Employer Accounts
  • Candidate Accounts

Each account type has different permissions and access rights.

Users may not misuse account types, misrepresent their role, or impersonate another party.

3. Employer Terms

By registering as an Employer, you confirm that:

3.1 Job Posting

  • You are legally authorised to recruit for the role you post
  • All job listings are accurate, lawful, and non-misleading
  • You comply with Irish employment, equality, and data protection legislation

3.2 Candidate Access

Employers may:

  • View applications submitted through the Platform
  • View Candidate profiles and CVs where access is permitted
  • Contact Candidates using the details they provide

Employers may not:

  • Share Candidate data with third parties without lawful basis
  • Use Candidate data for non-recruitment purposes
  • Harvest, scrape, or bulk-download CVs or contact details

3.3 Hiring Responsibility

All hiring decisions, background checks, licence verification (including PSA licences, Safe Pass, or equivalent), and employment contracts are the sole responsibility of the Employer.

4. Candidate Terms

By registering as a Candidate, you confirm that:

4.1 Profile & CV Accuracy

  • All information provided is truthful and up to date
  • You are legally entitled to work in Ireland (or the relevant jurisdiction)
  • Any licences, certifications, or experience claimed are accurate

4.2 Applications

Candidates may:

  • Apply to jobs listed on the Platform
  • Manage their own profile, CV, and visibility settings
  • Withdraw or update applications where permitted

Candidates acknowledge that:

  • Submission of an application does not guarantee contact or employment
  • Employers control hiring decisions and response timelines

5. Data & Privacy

SecurityCareers.ie stores and processes user data solely to operate the Platform, in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

This includes:

  • Account details
  • Job listings
  • Applications
  • CVs and resumes
  • Communication records (where applicable)

Data visibility depends on:

  • User role (Employer or Candidate)
  • Platform permissions
  • Candidate visibility settings
  • Employer access rights

SecurityCareers.ie does not control how Employers process Candidate data after lawful access.

6. Applications & Communication

  • Applications are transmitted through Platform functionality
  • Employers may contact Candidates directly using provided contact details

SecurityCareers.ie is not responsible for:

  • missed or undelivered emails
  • delayed responses
  • external communication failures

7. Payments & Paid Features (If Applicable)

Where paid features are offered (including job postings, featured listings, or subscriptions):

  • Fees are clearly displayed before purchase
  • Payments grant access to Platform features only
  • Fees are non-refundable once a feature is activated, unless required by law

SecurityCareers.ie does not guarantee results, applications, or hires from paid features.

8. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

  • Review, edit, suspend, or remove content
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • Remove misleading, unlawful, or inappropriate job listings

This does not create an obligation to monitor all content.

9. User-Generated Content (IMPORTANT)

SecurityCareers.ie is a 100% user-generated content platform.

All job listings, profiles, CVs, and related content are submitted by users.

SecurityCareers.ie:

  • does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of user-generated content
  • is not responsible for errors or omissions
  • does not pre-screen all content before publication

Users remain fully responsible for the content they submit.

The inclusion of any listing or profile on the Platform does not constitute verification or endorsement.

10. Limitation of Liability (CRITICAL)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SecurityCareers.ie shall not be liable for:

  • hiring outcomes
  • candidate performance
  • employer conduct
  • employment disputes
  • loss of income, reputation, or opportunity
  • misuse of data by Employers or Candidates

Use of the Platform is at your own risk.

11. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts if users:

  • breach these Terms
  • misuse Platform features
  • provide false or misleading information
  • engage in unlawful, abusive, or harmful behaviour

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
